Tom Hanks has confirmed to play in the triple border of Kathryn Bigelow

He also referred to the project as “Triple Border” and not its other rumored title, “Sleeping Dogs”.Last month, it was reported that Tom Hanks was “seriously considering” a starring role in the Triple Frontier, the new film from Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker). Producer Charles Roven ComingSoon says that Hanks is now officially on board. Roven added that they were still casting roles and others who were with the goal of mid-March 2011 fire.

Other famous actors have been previously named in connection with the project as Sean Penn, Denzel Washington, Javier Bardem, Christian Bale, Will Smith, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeremy Renner, and Johnny Depp. It is clear that Bigelow is using its influence to take something Oscar A-list talent and I could not be happier about it.
As we reported yesterday, Atlas is currently set to shoot next summer, allowing Border Hanks to shoot in the spring. As for Hanks, who is also currently attached to an adaptation of the extremely strong, so closely directed by Stephen Daldry (The Reader) and the Wachowski brothers’ adaptation of David Mitchell’s Cloud Atlas. His next film, Larry Crowne (who also co-wrote and directed), will open on July 1, 2011
