By AltBakh

Less than 24 hours after the news hit on Steven Soderbergh’s interest in the direction of an adaptation of the spy series of the 1960 “The Man from UNCLE, the project could have already won a place … an advantage a list, by the way. The Playlist reports that Soderbergh frequent collaborator George Clooney is in talks to star in the film.
Hit the jump for more information and some of my thoughts. As reported yesterday, the film aims to be a screenplay by Scott Z. Burns, the writer behind Soderbergh’s The Informant and the next transmission. In view of the Oceans trilogy, Clooney and Soderbergh have collaborated on six films together, including 1998’s Out of Sight, Solaris 2002, and 2006’s The Good German.
If there is a potential snaffu regarding the project, which would probably be in programming. While Soderbergh is no stranger to multiple outbreaks in a year, it is conceivable that Clooney could well be putting the finishing touches to his efforts as head of The Ides of March at the same time (not to mention potentially execute circuit festival for her role in Alexander Payne’s descendants). Soderbergh is currently configured not to shoot his film biography of Liberace in the summer or early fall of 2011, about the same time it is the hope of the earth guy. The worst comes to worst, the project will end with a session in 2012 and released.
And we, who do not want to see him return to Limey style of the 60 roads? Consider me excited. Clooney Throw in there (preferably haircut the American way), and only struck gold filmSay what you want for some of the recent options Soderbergh (see The Girlfriend Experience, Che), but you can not say that man lacks ambition.
