Fox Searchlight is developing an adaptation of Wilson, a comic by Daniel Clowes (Ghost World). The main character is a “stubborn middle-aged loner who loves his dog and possibly anyone else.”
The project is conceived as a potential vehicle for the direction of Alexander Payne (Sideways). Payne’s next film, stars George’s descendants, is scheduled for release sometime in 2011.
